I realize I haven't been updating. ): Truth is I haven't worked on the comic or even thought about it for weeks now. This really is turning out to be the hardest semester of my life so far, in every aspect. I'll have time to work on breaks, but even then most of my time is spent trying to recoup.

I'm also in the process of rewriting a lot of the story because I have this overwhelming feeling of dissatisfaction with the whole comic at this point. I have to replan chapter 2, which isn't going so well with the lack of time I have. I'll keep posting pages since I have all of chapter one finished, but there will probably be a hiatus sometime in the near future...

The worst thing you can do, especially for your art, is to force it, and to try and shove it in amongst a mass of life-giving-you-shit.  If you want your work to be spectacular, give it the time it needs, and the attention it deserves.  If you want to please everyone but yourself, drop everything you value and just shit it out - but I think we both know that kind of mass production isn't the least bit pleasing or self-satisfying enough, and you're a person of high enough judgement and pride in your work that I wouldn't expect it.

Not to say I'm not glued to the screen when new updates are available -  I love your story, I love the characters, I love your art, your style, everything about it is amazing, and I'm always wanting more.  But this wouldn't be a story I loved if the artist was suffering for it.  I have a difficult time reading "So You're a Cartoonist" for that reason - it seems that the artist is wringing himself tight and uncomfortable for the sake of updates pretty frequently, and he's often writing about how stressed he is due to viewer criticism ( which, admittedly, he gets a LOT of, poor guy ).

But your work, your story - it's worth the wait.  I waited through New America, I waited through the start-up of Ensanguine, and the reboot, and it's worth it.  Just keep that in mind while life tries to throw you off of who you really are, okay?  And I mean it.
